Rescue Mission Failed

I think my rescue mission for the Whitty ( Neighbour female dog) to send her for spaying might failed. The vet clinic that we planning to go only will do the operaiton during weekday. Both of us working and if we fetch her there, we need to bring her back as soon as possible because hospitalization need to pay money.
While we are planning when to bring her to the vet, the Whitty is roaming freely outside the neighbour house and mixing around with the male dogs. We are so desperate by seeing this. We are really helpless, Brownie ( The puppy we saved but die in the end) incident will happen again if she keeps roaming around outside the house. She might get pregnant again, and the owner will ignore the health status of the puppies. Puppies will die. This is a vicious cycle.
We are trying to help but it is out of our control. Somehow the owner only know how to complaint and never try to stop the cause of the problem. My friend ask me, why can't the owner send the dogs for spay and neuter, government vet is much more cheaper. We are wondering why and puzzle about their attitude.
Seeing the dogs mixing arond, get pregnant, puppies that are abandone or neglected, puppies die with different causes, the dogs start again mixing around with other dogs... It is a vicous cycle that both of us withnessing, we are helpless. Even though our misssion by stopping all this littering might fail but we will try our best to stop this. We wish that the mission will not be delay.

11 x 24H

One day, Brownie( Our rescuer puppy) pooed out black- coloured stool. We had no idea why she had blackish stool. The most worried part was she became very quiet and didn't want to play with Mitra ( our pet). Usually when we put Brownie out of the cage, she followed Mitra and played with him. It was a very warm and peaceful scene. Unfortunately i didn't manage to snatch down the precious scene when they were playing together. And i won't have any chance to capture the " precious moment" anymore. Not even a chance was given.

The blackish stool and the abnormal behavior were the 1st sign that indicate that Brownie had sick. Due to lack of experience in dealing with puppy and our super tight and busy schedule. We decided to wait and see her progression.

The 9th day with us- She started to have diarrhea. We were so worry but she still have appetite. So, we called for help and make an appointment with the vet the next day. Thanks for Sis Chan ( Animal Care) in helping us.

The 10th day, Brownie became very weak and not eating at all. She had severe diarrhea with blackish stool. The vet told us that she might can't make it because she had internal bleeding and the evidence was the blackish stools. The vet was unsure the cause of the bleeding and he was suspect it might cause by the worm infection that causing her had internal bleeding. Even thought blood transfusion might not able to save her life because there was a puppy had similar condition like Brownie. The puppy had internal bleeding with unknown cause passed away after blood transfusion. And the cost of treatment might cause us a lot. There are also a lot of side effect of blood transfusion. The vet also suspect Brownie had distemper. ( Distemper is a airborn infection, will cause fatal in puppy).

We hope that she could be save. The vet said she had 2 disease, even thought she can survive from the internal bleeding but he was unsure about the distemper. However he gave us a very good medicine for Brownie.

We had to feed her every 4 hours to replace the nutrition because she had severe diarrhea. Some dewormed medicine and immune booster to boost her immune system so she can fight back. It was tough for us because she rejected to eat and drink. Even we managed to force into her throat by using syringe, she will vomit out later. We tried our very best to take care of her.

The 11th day, both of us take leave so we can take care of her. My husband even said, " We will adopt her no matter what happen." I can't believe my husband will say that, it is because we already taking care 2 dogs plus Brownie total up are 3 dogs. 2 dogs already give us a lot of challenges. Another puppy to take care... it will be a " Mission Impossible" or "Mission I Am Possible". I will give full support to my husband if we adopt Brownie. We need understanding and support form each other whatever decision we have make. (The 2nd dog is a female dog that we foster, she is Sweetie. )

We continued to feed her every 4 hours and checked her condition frequently. We had told her that, " If you choose to live, please fight the disease and we will be there with you. If you feel that you want to leave, don't worry about us. We will share merits with you and you will born in a better realm."

On the afternoon, while I went to check her condition ( she was kept at the kitchen the our washroom site), I found that she was no movement at all. There was no chest movement at all ( no breathing). My husband came and checked, Brownie was gone. She passed away without any suffering. We burried her in front our house and we wish that she will be reborn in a better realm after all this suffer.

May Brownie be free from suffering and happy.

May Brownie rest in peace.

We will always remember you.

( 11 days times 24 hours we had spend together, it was a beautiful memories. Thanks Brownie for giving us a sweet memories. We miss you very much.
Brownie, we love you.)

Moment of Touch

Wow, we have being adopting our dog, Mitra for 4 months. Getting used to him. He likes to jump at you and kiss at your face. Even new visitor he met at the 1st time , he will just give them a kiss and hug without their notice. Of course, all the visitor that came to our house were frightened by Mitra, because he is a huge dog.

We really have to thanks to Mitra for being a part of our family even thought sometime he really gives us some hard time. But we went through all the naughty things that he did. Sometime, we feel touching by his act too. There was one time, we needed to went out to buy groceries ( Our fridge is empty) and it was heavy rain outside, the " good" things are- we parked our car at outside and we only had a "teared" umbrella ( thanks for Mitra good mouth). We had to run in our car as quickly as we can while opened and closed the gate. Usually, Mitra will stand far away to farewell with us. But this time, he came out and sent us under the heavy rain. He refused to hide under his house even thought we shouted at him. We worried that he will get sick if he get wet.

I always feel unlucky when we need to go out in the heavy rain. However, the present of dear Mitra make me feel like - i am so lucky to have a loyal lovely family member. Both of us ended up laughing under the heavy rain because Mitra tried so hard to open his eyes in the heavy rain. It became a funny scene during the heavy rain. Instead of complaining the trouble that the heavy rain, we felt so happy and touch by our Mitra. This was our moment of touch in the life.

Thanks Mitra. We name him Mitra- because in Pali words, kalyana mitra mean- best friend. He will always be our best friend.

Angel on Earth

Wow, It have been long long time i didnt post anything in the blog... Why is this happening? Probably i have been giving myself a lot of excuses after i start working and adopt a lovely dog( now i called him Mitra, mean "friend").

It have been one and a half month we have Mitra. It is a tough job especially for me, because this is the 1st time i keep a dog. It is always my wish to have a dog. Now, my wish come true but it do not turn out to be what i have expected. He is a very super-duper active dog. His favorite activities is- jumping non-stop--- towards us. The neighbour that pass by our house will think that he is attacking us because when he starts playing it will be like rustling that we watch in the TV show. My husband used to plays with him until rolling on the group. Me, most of the time standing at the side and watch them playing. I am so afraid to join in because everytime after we play with him, both of us will ended up bruises and wound at the hands and legs. It is very painful indeed.
He is a very smart fellow too. He always show pitty face when we dont have time to play with him or walk him. He really good in acting. We always fool by his pitty, sad face. When we attend to his sad face, without our notice, 1st act he will jump on us. According to my husband, i have a super slow reflex. Undeniable, I have to agree with the statement. I knew that when he going to jump at me, but somehow I just standing there without blocking his "attack". That is why most of the time i just stand at the side and watch. My husband even said, " Mitra can train your reflex. " I still thinking the suggestion given by my husband. Hard to say "yes" to that kind of suggestion.
He is really our "angel".
Because of him, we have a chance to meet alot of dog lovers to teach us some tips to train our Mitra. we have more friend and more topics to talk with friends. He brings a lot of angels to us.
Because of him, i started to notice about the problem of stray animals facing now and we too can give a hand by foster the animal, bring them to vet to spay-neuter, find them a new home...
Because of him, we spend most of the time together in the house with Mitra. Less shopping and movie and of cause save money.
He is our angel. Even though initially he cause us a lot of headache and time spend. However, he always make us laugh because of his cute face.
We want to thank him for becoming our new member. We always love him and care for you- Mitra

A long wait

After we decided to keep the dog-" baby",we went to buy a collar, lead, and the chain. We went few pet shop and hope we could find a reasonable prize for the things we plan to buy. However, we didn't know how big is the Baby neck. This is the 1st time i will keep dog, never have a dog in my life before. I don't know how to choose for Baby. I tried to wear the collar to estimate how big is the Baby neck. I know is funny to wear the dog collar but this is the only way to test it. Both of us find out that it is quite uncomfortable to wear a collar for the rest of the life. We feel sorry for the dog but we have to let Baby wear so that we can put our name and phone number. If anything happen to the dog, other people who find him can contact us.

Moreover we went to a bookshop to do some reading about ' how to take care a dog?' and ' how to train a dog?'. Hope it will be useful to us. Even though my spouse had the experience kept dog, but this is the first time he will keep a big dog. It is going to be a new experience to both of us.

The next day we going to fetch Baby, we were so excited that finally we can take him back and in the mean time we worried that we can't take good care of him.

Now all our focus is on the dog. We really hope we can give the best to him. Hope we can become a good parents to him- ' Baby'.

Want or Don't want

Me and my spouse are animal lovers. However, we don't own any pets in the house except the birds staying behind the room holes, a stray cat sleeping under our car every night...We welcome them as our guests in the house. We know we can't own a pet because both of us too busy with works and activities. Another reason was my spouse had an experience of took care of few dogs. He feld deeply sad when the love dogs passed away one by one- is like lossing the beloved in our life. He couldn't take it anymore. Even though we like animals, we can't affort to have one now.

Our neighboor has 4 dogs. We are happy to have them as our neighboor because we can play with them sometime. Recently, they have a cute puppy -is a rottweiler. He is very small and cute little pupply, may be only one or 2 months old. We felt pitty for the puppy because the owner looked the puppy 24 hours in the cage. We seldom see the puppy running outside happily. It is quite sad see the puppy live like this. If we are the owner, we will make sure he can play and run freely. We will train him to be a obedient good dog just like our friend. However, he is not our pet. Everytime, we will call the puppy and pad him. He is so happy to see us. How lovely if he is our dog?
One day, one of the sister called up and asked us, can we help her to keep a 1 year old dog-"rott-shepherd". Both of us like dog but we can't have pet because we always not in the house. We are in the dilemma. Before we went to visit the dog, our mind running with" want? or don't want?" Or " how?". It was a real dilemma for us. We replied the sister that we can't have it. Few days ago, the sister called up again and said still can't find owner for her dog. So, we decided to meet up with the sister and the dog.
However, "want? or don' want" keep running in our mind. We still can't decide. There are a lot of responsibility if we want to have a dog. We must make sure we ready for it. Both of us want the best for the dog. We wish the best for the dog too.
After both of us finished and came back from work, we went to the sister house. She straight away showed us the dog after we arrived. The dogs started to bark at us fiercely. They are the parents of the dog. We still wondering where was the dog. The sister was calling " baby! baby!". At firt, we though the puppy should be very small in size. When the sister pointed to the dog... Wow, it was such a huge dog. When he (male dog) standed up, he already taller than us. Both of us in a sudden shock. However, he is a very handsome, smart friendly dog. Black shinning in colour with super energy. We wondered, both of us already very lazy in exercise, sure we don't have enough energy to play with him.
We had a chat with the owner (sister). She told us that the rules and regulation at her houseing area are not allow to keep more than 3 dogs. So, she had to give away the 1 year old puppy even though she so reluctant. She had tried to reach up few people, however they all couldn't have the dog. Then, she tried to reach us again because she had not one else to reach for. After heard from the sister, we decided to take the dog. We want the best for the dog and don't want the dog ended up badly. Both of us promise to take care the dog. However, the children of the owner didn't know the dog going to give away. We decided to come back another time to take the dog. Bercause we want the family have time to say good bye with the dog. We also need time to prepare our house and buy something for the dog.
We still afraid we can't provide a good and warmth house to the dog. We hope we can take good care of the dog. My spouse had the experience in taking care of the dog but i have none. I just love animal. We are preparing to welcome the dog. We hope we can give the best to the dog. May be this is " blessing in disguise" for us.
