One day, Brownie( Our rescuer puppy) pooed out black- coloured stool. We had no idea why she had blackish stool. The most worried part was she became very quiet and didn't want to play with Mitra ( our pet). Usually when we put Brownie out of the cage, she followed Mitra and played with him. It was a very warm and peaceful scene. Unfortunately i didn't manage to snatch down the precious scene when they were playing together. And i won't have any chance to capture the " precious moment" anymore. Not even a chance was given.
The blackish stool and the abnormal behavior were the 1st sign that indicate that Brownie had sick. Due to lack of experience in dealing with puppy and our super tight and busy schedule. We decided to wait and see her progression.
The 9th day with us- She started to have diarrhea. We were so worry but she still have appetite. So, we called for help and make an appointment with the vet the next day. Thanks for Sis Chan ( Animal Care) in helping us.
The 10th day, Brownie became very weak and not eating at all. She had severe diarrhea with blackish stool. The vet told us that she might can't make it because she had internal bleeding and the evidence was the blackish stools. The vet was unsure the cause of the bleeding and he was suspect it might cause by the worm infection that causing her had internal bleeding. Even thought blood transfusion might not able to save her life because there was a puppy had similar condition like Brownie. The puppy had internal bleeding with unknown cause passed away after blood transfusion. And the cost of treatment might cause us a lot. There are also a lot of side effect of blood transfusion. The vet also suspect Brownie had distemper. ( Distemper is a airborn infection, will cause fatal in puppy).
We hope that she could be save. The vet said she had 2 disease, even thought she can survive from the internal bleeding but he was unsure about the distemper. However he gave us a very good medicine for Brownie.
We had to feed her every 4 hours to replace the nutrition because she had severe diarrhea. Some dewormed medicine and immune booster to boost her immune system so she can fight back. It was tough for us because she rejected to eat and drink. Even we managed to force into her throat by using syringe, she will vomit out later. We tried our very best to take care of her.
The 11th day, both of us take leave so we can take care of her. My husband even said, " We will adopt her no matter what happen." I can't believe my husband will say that, it is because we already taking care 2 dogs plus Brownie total up are 3 dogs. 2 dogs already give us a lot of challenges. Another puppy to take care... it will be a " Mission Impossible" or "Mission I Am Possible". I will give full support to my husband if we adopt Brownie. We need understanding and support form each other whatever decision we have make. (The 2nd dog is a female dog that we foster, she is Sweetie. )
We continued to feed her every 4 hours and checked her condition frequently. We had told her that, " If you choose to live, please fight the disease and we will be there with you. If you feel that you want to leave, don't worry about us. We will share merits with you and you will born in a better realm."
On the afternoon, while I went to check her condition ( she was kept at the kitchen the our washroom site), I found that she was no movement at all. There was no chest movement at all ( no breathing). My husband came and checked, Brownie was gone. She passed away without any suffering. We burried her in front our house and we wish that she will be reborn in a better realm after all this suffer.
May Brownie be free from suffering and happy.
May Brownie rest in peace.
We will always remember you.
( 11 days times 24 hours we had spend together, it was a beautiful memories. Thanks Brownie for giving us a sweet memories. We miss you very much.
Brownie, we love you.)
