11 x 24H

One day, Brownie( Our rescuer puppy) pooed out black- coloured stool. We had no idea why she had blackish stool. The most worried part was she became very quiet and didn't want to play with Mitra ( our pet). Usually when we put Brownie out of the cage, she followed Mitra and played with him. It was a very warm and peaceful scene. Unfortunately i didn't manage to snatch down the precious scene when they were playing together. And i won't have any chance to capture the " precious moment" anymore. Not even a chance was given.

The blackish stool and the abnormal behavior were the 1st sign that indicate that Brownie had sick. Due to lack of experience in dealing with puppy and our super tight and busy schedule. We decided to wait and see her progression.

The 9th day with us- She started to have diarrhea. We were so worry but she still have appetite. So, we called for help and make an appointment with the vet the next day. Thanks for Sis Chan ( Animal Care) in helping us.

The 10th day, Brownie became very weak and not eating at all. She had severe diarrhea with blackish stool. The vet told us that she might can't make it because she had internal bleeding and the evidence was the blackish stools. The vet was unsure the cause of the bleeding and he was suspect it might cause by the worm infection that causing her had internal bleeding. Even thought blood transfusion might not able to save her life because there was a puppy had similar condition like Brownie. The puppy had internal bleeding with unknown cause passed away after blood transfusion. And the cost of treatment might cause us a lot. There are also a lot of side effect of blood transfusion. The vet also suspect Brownie had distemper. ( Distemper is a airborn infection, will cause fatal in puppy).

We hope that she could be save. The vet said she had 2 disease, even thought she can survive from the internal bleeding but he was unsure about the distemper. However he gave us a very good medicine for Brownie.

We had to feed her every 4 hours to replace the nutrition because she had severe diarrhea. Some dewormed medicine and immune booster to boost her immune system so she can fight back. It was tough for us because she rejected to eat and drink. Even we managed to force into her throat by using syringe, she will vomit out later. We tried our very best to take care of her.

The 11th day, both of us take leave so we can take care of her. My husband even said, " We will adopt her no matter what happen." I can't believe my husband will say that, it is because we already taking care 2 dogs plus Brownie total up are 3 dogs. 2 dogs already give us a lot of challenges. Another puppy to take care... it will be a " Mission Impossible" or "Mission I Am Possible". I will give full support to my husband if we adopt Brownie. We need understanding and support form each other whatever decision we have make. (The 2nd dog is a female dog that we foster, she is Sweetie. )

We continued to feed her every 4 hours and checked her condition frequently. We had told her that, " If you choose to live, please fight the disease and we will be there with you. If you feel that you want to leave, don't worry about us. We will share merits with you and you will born in a better realm."

On the afternoon, while I went to check her condition ( she was kept at the kitchen the our washroom site), I found that she was no movement at all. There was no chest movement at all ( no breathing). My husband came and checked, Brownie was gone. She passed away without any suffering. We burried her in front our house and we wish that she will be reborn in a better realm after all this suffer.

May Brownie be free from suffering and happy.

May Brownie rest in peace.

We will always remember you.

( 11 days times 24 hours we had spend together, it was a beautiful memories. Thanks Brownie for giving us a sweet memories. We miss you very much.
Brownie, we love you.)

A blind Man

Surprisingly that the scenery outside my house can be so attractive. We never notice it until i snatch the view down with the camera.

We are lucky that we have eyes to see the beauty of the world. A lot of people take things as granted.

Let me tell you all a story, I suppose most of you heard this story before.

There was a man had sick and been hospitalize. He was been put in the same room with another patient. The room only have one window and he hope he was the one sleeping beside the window.

However, it was occupied by the patient that admitted earlier than him. Everyday, the man that slept beside the window will describe the view that he saw at the window. How it look like during winter, spring... A happy couple with the children walk by... He was so desperately wanted to see himself.

One day, the man slept beside him passed away. He asked the nurse permission so that he can sleep beside the window. Finally he was slept beside the window. When he sit up and look outside the window, it was just a wall. There was nothing outside, nothing like the man describe. So, he asked the nurse about the man that always told him a lot story outside the window. The nurse said may be he just wanted to encourage you and he was a blind man.

What do we learn from the story?

I would like to share another short story; there were 2 prison been caught in the different cell. One of them look at the sky and stars with hope. Another one just kept complaining and angry with himself and the surrounding.

So, what do you think about this story?

Hope the story with you some inspiration.

Invader

Currently we have taking 3 dogs. 1 is our pet ( Mitra), 1 is Sweetie ( fostering) and the last one is Brownie ( Our rescue puppy).

Somehow, there are invaders. Who are they? How can they invade our house compound without permission?

Whitty is no. 1 visitor or should I call her invader? She always come to our house backyard and stay there. We don't have a huge backyard, but somehow the dogs like to stop by our backyard. Most of the time I would not chase her always unless she did something wrong. The unbearable part was she likes to bring different partners to my backyard. I hope you all understand what they going to do and i won't explain further. We can only blame ourselves because of the broken backyard gate. Another thing is- she doesn't like the Pandan leaves we plant and she will just pull out all the pandan leaves at our backyard. Weird thing she had did. Anyhow, i will give her some dog food and bread when she around. Hope we can bring her to spay as far as possible. If not, another bunch of puppies will be in suffering.

This is the 2nd invader to our house. We call her Charmaine. We don't know what breed she is but she is always being chain by the owner. According to the neighbor, she is a very dangerous dog and already banned in Europe. Why? She has the tendency to bite your neck even though how nice you treat her. Yes, we do, we do afraid of her.

She always sneak in our house by squeeze her body through the gate. No body believe she can do this but she always does. The broken vase is her " good job". She pushed down and broke the vase when she attempted to squeeze through the gate.

There are few invaders coming into our house. We have no idea why they like to come here. We feed them once in a while.

We all are learning to stay peacefully and harmony with human and other beings ect. animal. Please don't use violence to chase them away. Normally i will just use a can to scare them away. This is the only thing i can do.

Live harmony with our surrounding. Figure other alternative that will not harm each other. Do not ever think of use violence to chase away the stray animal. Remember that, All lives are precious. We do not have the right to punish them and terminate their live. They have the right to live and we can help them by spay and neuter them. Everyone of us can contribute and help to reduce the stray animal by spay and neuter them or rehome them. So, why we don't just start to do something now. Start now and it will never too late.

What is that?

I
t has being a routine for both of us, first thing every morning thing we do- say " Good morning to Mitra, Sweetie and Brownie. " Check their condition and how are they. Usually our Mitra(our roth - shephard giant) will give you a hug and kiss in the morning. Sweetie will wage her tail and making noise saying, " I am hungry. Please prepare my breakfast."
Now, we have a new member to check on. Whether Brownie pee or poo?
While my husband is playing with Mitra and checking on Brownie. I have to prepare both of our breakfast and the dog breakfast. Sometime, my husband will prepare their breakfast while i prepare our breakfast. It really need to have a lot of team work and co-operationto make this work
After their breakfast, my hubby will walk them. Usually we will walk Sweetie in the morning because she has been kept in the cage due to contagious mites which can spread to other dogs. however, she is now recovering from it and ready to mix around with mitra.
Brownie gave us a shock today. What is that in her poo? We found worms in it. its has at least 5-6 worms in it and about the size of a 10 cents coin. She has been suffering from intestine worm infection. Now we know why she became thinner and thinner and lack of appetite after dewormed. The dewormed medicine which the VET gave is working on her. Thanks to our vet
Brownie has a good appetite however, her water always upside down and always have problem in feeding her the antibiotic. She become better and better and we are happy to see that. We really hope there are someone outside is willing to adopt her. She is very cute and will definitey brings happiness to your home.

Eating is Good

I have been trying to feed Brownie the whole day. She looked more energy compare to the 1st day she arrived my house. Walking around in the cage and barking toward Mitra. She like calling Mitra, " come brother, play with me. ". However, it is prohibited for them to play together because she might has contagious disease. We not so worry because Mitra had vaccinated.

I still wondering why she was not eating well the whole day. The food and water in her cage always upside down. We have to check her up regularly to make sure she has water and food. By the way, i still trying my best to feed her.

Miracle happen, because the water fell upside down and wet the kibbles. I put the wet and enlarge kibbles on my palm and fed her. Wow, she was eating and finished the kibbles i had given. Now i know what was the problem. She had difficulty in chewing the hard kibbles. After the kibbles dip in the water for a while, it become soft and enlarge in size. It became easier for her to chew. Good job, Brownie.

Finally she eaten up all the kibbles i gave. On the other hand, feeding antibiotic is my weakness. I am still trying.

I never feel so relief that " eating is good". We can eat whatever we can, even we are so chooosy in food and drink. How about people allergy to foods? They can't eat the foods they allergy to. Or the people have problem in eating and need to feed through the tube. We never think about that, " we can eat is good. we can chew and bite is good and lucky."

Appreciate what we have now, don't take everything as granted. Thanks Brownie for eating and teach me a good lesson.

Brownie - 1st day

When we reached home, it was already 4.40 p.m.. We were exhauted but we still had to fix the cage for Brownie. We had to clean it 1st then only can let Brownie stay.i never take care puppy like this small size before. ( When Mitra came, he was puppy but was a giant puppy). It was a tough job for me because we need to feed her antibiotic which is in the tablet form. ( we were so blur that we didn't choose the syrup form initially. ) Now we have to try to open her mouth everyday and put the medicine in her throat. We tried and she has the tendency to throw out the medicine from her mouth. We can understand that the taste of medicine is not that good. Even human also dislike medicine taste.

1st day in our house- we worried the most. She was not eating, drink abit but sleep most of the time. We wondered could it be the "dewormed" medicine effect. We were suspect that she might has worm in the stomach because her stomach looked bloated. We still have to wait and see. We need to check her appetite, urine and stool condition.

We try to capture the urine and stool photo in case the vet ask us for the next time check up. We have problem in remembering recently, too busy with all sort of activities. One rescue mission was already eaten up all our energy source. Both of us busy since we wake up from the bed till we go for work. Busy again when we come back from work till we lie on the bed. Middle of the night if one of them ( 3 dogs or neighbour's dogs) barking or crying, we have to wake up and check their condition.

We hope Brownie appetite will be better... A long day...

Rescue Mission 2

We were rushed to the vet last yesterday after attended our cousin wedding. Both of us non-stop busy with the Brownie. We put her in the box and I sat with her at the behind seat. We knew she was frightened because of new environment. The next thing that we worried - Where is the vet clinic?
Fortunately we had the address and some direction from the Sis Chan ( a kind stray animal rescuer).
We were so lucky that we had a parking in front of the vet clinic even though there was a jam place. However, we reach there quite early and we had to wait because the appointment was 3 p.m..
We brought Brownie to the vet after the clinic open. 1st thing the vet asked us about Brownie history included when is the last meal, when is the last time she peed and pooed, her appetite...It really beat us down, we hardly knew her, all the while she was at my neighbour house mixed with other adult dog. We just know that if we don't take any action, she will follow her other siblings footstep. ( All 3 siblings passed away due to negligent)
Then, the vet asked us, " What you going to do with this puppy after this?" . We really didn't thought about it. Our house really don't have place for another puppy. We have Mitra and a foster dog ( Sweetie). So, how we going to solve this problem. What we could think during that time, locate her inside our Mitra's house( We built a house for Mitra before Chinese New Year). These was what we could think and help in the 1st place.
Her skin condition was unbearable ( for us). The vet told us her skin just like carpet-like easily to be peeled of. The doctor peeled off the skin in front of us. There was also a lot of tick inside her ears, live and dead ones. We were shocked and really couldn't stand it. They spray the Frontline( a medication to kill the tick, flea, mite) on her body and ears. The medicine effect can up to one 1 month.
We hardly know about the puppy's history, doctor couldn't do much on her. So, we have to take her back with antibiotic and understand her more. Because of worrying some unknown infectious disease that she might having, we need to put her in a confine place. Now, we were wondering, Mitra's house no door at all. Our idea for not building a door is to let Mitra free roaming.
Fortunately. Sis Chan lend us a foldable cage for Brownie and a pack for puppy's food. We were so grateful for her help. So, we hope Brownie will be well soon and can help her to find a good home.
We wish that there are more people will be concern about the street animals. Please bring them to spay and neuter. These will help reduce the problems of the puppies and dogs that are being abandoned, abused, accident... Everyone can contribute in these issue.

Rescue Mission 1

We had contacted the person in charge to help us to make an appointment with the vet for the spay operation and the puppy ( We just name her - Brownie) check up. We really not creative in giving name to dog. Just like the mother dog, we gave her Whitty because she has white fur.

However, due to some reason the spay operation for Whitty canceled and we needed to make another appointment. We strongly hope that Whitty will not be pregnant before we send her for spay.

We felt relief that we managed to bring the Brownie visit the vet. When we got the puppy from the neighbor, we were worried because she seem like has some skin problem with the skin peeling off. Furthermore her ears full of ticks. I really couldn't stand it. ( The photo we had uploaded, can clearly see that her skin has some lesion. actually that is the site the skin peeled off).

( Will update you all with the vet examination and her condition after returning from the vet by tomorrow.)

Don't Wait

A lot of things in our life that we cannot say, " Wait lah. Later only." or " Busy now, wait ah ". I used to say like this, a lot of things that happen to us stimulate me to " do it now when i still have the chance and ability." Once we missed it, we won't know what is the consequences. We will never know what will happen if we keep waiting.

My neighbour initially has 4 dogs, 3 males 1 female. 2 of the males are the sons of the female dog( we called her- Whitty). Even though the family have financial problems, they still willing to buy rice and chicken bones to cook for the dog. They even don't eat rice as dinner and give all the rice to the dogs. I was amaze of their good heart.

The problems is the Whitty still not spay yet and she likes to run away from the house. Recently she just delivered 4 puppies, 3 males and 1 female. We started to worry about the puppies, how the puppies can survive in such condition. The neighbour told us not to worry because there were people would like to adopt the puppies. We felt settle down after the neighbour told us.
The environment was not that good because of the neighbour's son bought in another 3 puppies, 2 rott (2 months old), the other female dog ( 6 months old, unknown breed). We felt so helpless for their condition. Now they had total 11 dogs in the house compound. Even though we had advice them send out few dogs. Nothing happen still. We were glad all the dogs fed everyday. The neighbour has a good heart indeed.

Somethings happen in one morning, I noticed there was one new born puppy missing (Whitty's children). It was a bad new, according to the neighbour, one of the dog every morning will grape all the 4 puppies (actually they are sibling, the one who grape just 6 months elder than the new born puppies) and put at the gate there. It was frozen in the morning due to the raining season. When the neighbour found out, it was too late, one of them didn't make it. Now left 3 of them. We were sad and they were so helpless. "What we can do now?", I kept on asking myself.

One day, one of the man with his family came by and see the puppies. They would like to adopt a male puppy. We happy to see that. Unfortunately, all 3 puppies seem like very sick. Then, the neighbour only noticed the puppies infected with tick. They were infected through one of the dog (which is infected with tick and cannot cure from the shampoo). The man refused to take the dog and will only come back once the puppies recover. We just didn't get it, why can't man just take puppy to the vet (If he really sincere in adopting the dog and love dog.). Poor little puppies... We wished we can do something.
The neighbour said, " Don't worry, we will clean the puppies with shampoo. " We believed in them because they should know better than us, they have being keeping dog for so many years. And we just have Mitra. But I wondered why don't they send the puppies to check up, I afraid it won't be cure just clean them. Mm...

We knew the puppies were clean with some shampoo which will kill the tick. However, the puppies still didn't look good. Moreover, the neighbour didn't show sign of worry about them. Am i guessing the neighbour correctly? I don't want to judge them, and i not suppose to judge people. Why? Everyone have their own reason when doing something. We have different perception in dealing the same thing. So, we can't really judge people. All of us grow in different back group, education, environment... Or , am I waiting the right moment to save the puppies? We felt helpless by seeing this happen in front of us.

The worst came and we still had to face it. After we came back from Chinese New Year, i looked at the neighbour house, there was only a brown colour female puppy left. We were happy initially, we thought the puppies were adopted. The news strive me, the puppies die of sickness. I suspect they might die of tick fever. What we can do now?

I lost my patient and decided to do something. I asked for help from the Animal Care, we would like to spay the Whitty, because we don't want incident happen again. We need to do something to stop it, so the best way is spay Whitty. The second thing is, we will bring the Brownie ( We name the brown colour puppy) to visit the vet because she look sick. Brownie is the sole survivor, we wish she can stay alive and healthy and wish someone will take her back.

I wish our task can be complete early. We can't wait anymore, if we still wait, the mother might get pregnant again, the Brownie will die. we can't take the risk. Pray for both of them.

There is why we can't always said, " Wait lah." , " later lah.". If someone in need and ask for help, and we only said wait lah. It might jeopardise other live. Just like the incident happent to us, if we take action earlier. The other 3 puppies might survive. If the neighbour spay or neuter the dog, they would not litter around. But there is not " if " in our life. So, when you feel you need to do something especially involving human and animal life, Please do now, and don't wait.

( ps: above the article i am here attach the mother dog, Whitty and the daughter photo that we going to save. )

A Cat- an Inspiration

After we know about the Animal Care from this website ( http://www.myanimalcare.org/ ), we realize that we have the ability to help the stray animal.

How we can help? There are a lot of way we can give a hand;

  1. we can help them by giving donation. The donation are all for the stray animal for the spay and neuter bills, medical treatment, foods and so on.
  2. we can become the fosterer;
  3. help them to find a home (re-homer) or become a adopter,
  4. On the other hand, we can become the volunteer to help in projects and events.

It is very touching and inspired by the volunteers' dedication and sacrificed. We never know about the problems of the stray animals. They (stray animals) need help and they are helpless. Fortunately, there are many angels helping the stray animals. And they still need more people like you all the give a hand.

We had missed out a lot of chance to help the stray animal. Both of us even witnessed the deathless of the stray cat and buried her later. This was becasue of our negligent and it happened before we have Mitra. We saw a injured cat lie at the roadside (we all suspect she was hit by a car). She was helpless , so both of us decided to take her back and take care of her. Based of my friend observation, she looked like pregnant. With compassion toward the cat, we brought her back without any knowledge of how to take care a cat. Upon of that, we had no idea where is the nearest clinic. The cat passed away at the same day and tried to rush to a clinic becasue she is pregnant. We hoped the baby still can survive. However, it was too late, no movement at all a t her stomach. We felt so sorry and sad about the incident. We buried her and pray that she will be reborn in a better place.

After the incident, we wished that we know the nearest vet clinic and the person that we can ask for help. We adopted a dog so he won't ended up as stray animal. We found out the blog because we want to know more about the stray animals. That is how we start to know where is the nearest vet clinic that near to our house, and also a person that we can ask for help through the Animal Care blog.

Is the cat that inspire us to take part in helping the stray animals. Currently, we are helping by fostering a dog. Even though it is not a easy task. So far, we manage to get used to it. We wonder the cat might be one of the angel that came to us and inspire us.

Thanks to you Angel (cat).

May you be reborn in a better place.

May you be free of all the suffering.

Because Of "U"

We are animal lover and i wish to adopt a dog for long time. However, my spouse experienced the lost of his dogs last time, he won't wish to adopt any dog because both of us will be very sad when the dog pass away. So, we decided don't take any dog. However, there was always exception and the reason of something happening to us.

Then- the present of Mitra in our life. Surprisingly my spouse willing to keep him. Neither of us wanted the dog to be put to sleep. Now, we have to learn to adapt our life with a new member- Mitra.

Because of "U" - We start to go to bookstore to look for dog information. We found out that Mitra can't eat garlic, onion, chocolate(my favorite), grapes and a lots on. This mean that he can't eat the food we cook.

Because of "U" - We spend most of the time in the house together.

Because of "U"- We realize that there are a lot of homeless animal and i discover a blog which is about a group of volunteers help the stray animal by giving them care, neuter, rehome/ reture, manage (CNRM)( can check on this blog spot: www.myanimalcare.org ). We never though of there are a lot of homeless animal dying outside. If we never adopt Mitra, we won't have the chance to explore this kind of issue.

Because of "U" -We started to contact the person in charge of the Animal Care that we wish to help them by foster one of the dog they help. This is the least we can do. Even now both of us tight up with few activities, we still hope we can give a hand in any form.

Because of "U" - Ya, the "U" can be anyone hat inspire us to move on, continue to do good deeds, continue to help someone in need... The "U" can be our parent, siblings, spouse, friends, animal... that inspire us in any form. They have gave us advice in the past or present that encourage us to do something that can benefits other including human, animal and environment.

Because of our parent, we are born and grow up, they educate us and now we are doing things that benefit other. Thanks to our parent. May all the parents all over the world, be well and happy.

Because of our Mitra, we now more care about the stray animal. We would like to help up more in the future. Thanks Mitra, May you always be happy.

There was a lot a lot of people that we need to say thank you in our life, say it out now and look at the positive way. Because of " U " all, we continue to write and share.

Moment of Touch

Wow, we have being adopting our dog, Mitra for 4 months. Getting used to him. He likes to jump at you and kiss at your face. Even new visitor he met at the 1st time , he will just give them a kiss and hug without their notice. Of course, all the visitor that came to our house were frightened by Mitra, because he is a huge dog.

We really have to thanks to Mitra for being a part of our family even thought sometime he really gives us some hard time. But we went through all the naughty things that he did. Sometime, we feel touching by his act too. There was one time, we needed to went out to buy groceries ( Our fridge is empty) and it was heavy rain outside, the " good" things are- we parked our car at outside and we only had a "teared" umbrella ( thanks for Mitra good mouth). We had to run in our car as quickly as we can while opened and closed the gate. Usually, Mitra will stand far away to farewell with us. But this time, he came out and sent us under the heavy rain. He refused to hide under his house even thought we shouted at him. We worried that he will get sick if he get wet.

I always feel unlucky when we need to go out in the heavy rain. However, the present of dear Mitra make me feel like - i am so lucky to have a loyal lovely family member. Both of us ended up laughing under the heavy rain because Mitra tried so hard to open his eyes in the heavy rain. It became a funny scene during the heavy rain. Instead of complaining the trouble that the heavy rain, we felt so happy and touch by our Mitra. This was our moment of touch in the life.

Thanks Mitra. We name him Mitra- because in Pali words, kalyana mitra mean- best friend. He will always be our best friend.
